Buck Converter
A Buck Converter, also known as a step-down converter, is a DC–DC electronic circuit that reduces a higher DC input voltage to a lower, stable DC output voltage with high efficiency. It operates using components such as a switching device (MOSFET), inductor, capacitor, and diode.
The circuit functions through high-speed switching: energy is stored in the inductor when the switch is turned on and then released to the load when the switch is turned off. This process minimizes energy loss and heat generation, making buck converters widely used in power supplies for PCs, smartphones, LED lighting, and portable electronic devices.
