Responsibilities

  • Define the top-level SoC architecture and microarchitecture for a flight-controller device based on an Arm Cortex-class real-time core, including the CPU subsystem, cache/TCM, interrupt and power-domain structure.
  • Specify the on-chip interconnect (AMBA AXI/AHB/APB matrices and bridges), address map, clock and reset architecture, and multi-power-domain partitioning.
  • Define the peripheral and I/O complement required for flight control — redundant IMU interfaces (SPI/I2C), motor/servo PWM and high-resolution timers, CAN-FD (DroneCAN/UAVCAN), UART telemetry/GPS, USB and Ethernet.
  • Drive PPA budgeting and trade-off analysis (performance, power, area), latency analysis of the real-time control loop, and bandwidth/throughput modeling of the bus and memory subsystem.
  • Lead IP selection and make-vs-buy decisions (CPU, interconnect, PLL, ADC, USB, CAN-FD, Ethernet, memory compilers) and define integration requirements for internal and third-party IP.
  • Author detailed architecture and microarchitecture specifications and partition the design into IP/sub-blocks for the RTL and verification teams.
  • Define functional-safety, redundancy and reliability features appropriate for airborne/defense applications (e.g. dual/triple sensor lanes, error detection, watchdogs, wide-temperature operation).
  • Collaborate with software and firmware teams to ensure the architecture supports flight stacks such as PX4 / ArduPilot and an STM32-class hardware abstraction layer (HAL).
  • Support RTL design, verification, DFT, physical implementation and silicon bring-up as the architectural reference and arbiter of technical decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of digital IC / SoC design experience, with 5+ years in an SoC architecture or lead microarchitecture role (strong candidates with fewer years and exceptional depth will be considered).
  • Proven experience defining SoC architecture for MCU- or application-class devices, from specification through silicon.
  • Deep knowledge of Arm CPU architecture and microarchitecture (Cortex-M / Cortex-R / Cortex-A), including caches, TCM, MPU/MMU, and interrupt controllers.
  • Expert understanding of AMBA bus architectures (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB), on-chip interconnect, address mapping and multi-domain clock/reset design.
  • Strong grasp of memory subsystems (flash, SRAM, TCM, external memory controllers) and PPA trade-off analysis.
  • Knowledge of real-time control, motor-control timers and sensor interfaces (SPI/I2C IMU, ADC, PWM) used in flight control or motion systems.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and in scripting languages (Python, PERL, shell) for modeling, analysis and flow automation.
  • Good English and Vietnamese communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with UAV/drone flight controllers or familiarity with PX4 / ArduPilot / MAVLink.
  • Knowledge of complex I/O protocols such as PCIe Gen4/Gen5 and DDR4/5.
  • Experience with CAN-FD (DroneCAN/UAVCAN), USB, and Ethernet subsystems.
  • Experience with architectural modeling/virtual-prototyping and performance simulation.
  • Solid fundamentals in the full IC design flow, DFT and ASIC concepts.

Benefits

Successful candidates will be part of a friendly, motivated and committed talent teams with various benefits and attractive offers:

  • Competitive salary in labor market
  • Project bonuses when you join ODC (Offshore Development Center) projects
  • Bonus and welfare policies (FPT Care, summer retreat, teambuilding, annual health check-ups, Training) standardized according to large corporate scale. Access to Up-Skill Training and professional development programs.
  • Opportunities to access leading design technologies and participate in Japan & Korea projects in a professional, standardized microcircuit design environment.
  • Unlimited development: participate in the value chain from PMIC, IP Solutions, Engineering Service, ATE & Packaging, Camera & Drone to IoT Devices.
  • Working time: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM From Mondays to Fridays
