Earlier in 2024, Infineon Technologies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic collaboration with Honda for the next-generation electric vehicles. Beyond semiconductor solutions, the MoU also addresses the discussion of “supply chain stability”.

In the fields of electrical systems and IoT, Infineon Technologies is considered as one of the world’s leading semiconductor solution companies, headquartered in Germany.

According to the newly signed MoU, Honda stated that the company has selected Infineon as a semiconductor supply partner with a view to align product and technology roadmaps for the future. The two companies agree to continue discussions on supply chain stability, as well as encourage mutual knowledge transfer and collaboration in projects to expedite the time to market for technology. Infineon will support Honda in electric semiconductors, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Electrical/Electronic architecture, collaborating on new architectural concepts.

Additionally, Infineon is currently the supplier for the Genesis EV series, owned by Hyundai Motors, and has agreements with Kia Motors. Prior to this, Infineon made a notable impact in the Vietnamese market through collaboration on semiconductor solutions for electric vehicles with Vinfast.
