1. Core Objectives

The MOU outlines four main objectives to ensure sustainable development:

1.1. Strengthening Semiconductor Workforce
Starting in 2025, FPT Semiconductor will invest in training and sending engineers to Japan with a plan to:

  • Send 5 engineers annually in the first year.
  • Gradually increase to 13 engineers per year by the fifth year.
  • Continue expanding until 2034.

In addition, enhancing collaboration to provide high-quality engineers for Toshiba underscores a commitment to long-term cooperation, ensuring efficient and rapid knowledge transfer.

1.2. Expanding Expertise in Semiconductor Fields
The partnership spans beyond IC design, encompassing new fields to better meet market demands:

  • IC Testing.
  • Failure Analysis.
  • Reliability Testing.
  • IC Fabrication.

Experts from Toshiba will participate in the technology transfer process, ensuring the FPT Semiconductor team enhances their skills to meet international standards.

1.3. Developing a New Generation of Human Resources
FPT collaborates with FPT Education to design specialized training programs, offering opportunities for:

  • Internships at Toshiba for outstanding students.
  • Employment after graduation, providing a clear career development roadmap.

These programs include training on the latest semiconductor technologies, enabling students to enhance their adaptability and contribute immediately to real-world projects.

1.4. Knowledge Transfer and Research Promotion
Both parties commit to hosting annual technical workshops, focusing on:

  • Knowledge exchange among experts.
  • Improving the skills of engineering teams.
  • Fostering innovation in research and development (R&D).

Annual meetings will serve as platforms for sharing practical experiences, evaluating effectiveness, and proposing initiatives to improve research processes.

2. Applications and Long-Term Impacts

The partnership between FPT Semiconductor and Toshiba brings not only direct benefits to both parties but also significantly contributes to global development, particularly in the semiconductor industry.

First, with structured investments in high-quality human resources, FPT Semiconductor positions Vietnam as a leading supplier of semiconductor talent worldwide. This effort meets the increasing demand of the global market while opening doors for Vietnamese engineers to engage in high-tech projects.
